SACAI Contact Details
SACAI’s office lines are 012 348 5650, 012 348 4650 and 012 348 0501, and general enquiries go to info@sacai.org.za. SACAI, the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute, is a private assessment body in Pretoria that Umalusi has accredited to assess the National Senior Certificate (NSC) and the GETC: ABET.
SACAI is not a school. It sets and runs examinations, and Umalusi issues the certificates. For schools, colleges and other education bodies, see the education hub.

The contact page also has a website enquiry form. When you fill it in, you choose what the enquiry is about, including institution registration, ABET, the Combined Certificate, the May/June exams, and invigilator or amanuensis training.
SACAI runs a WhatsApp channel, linked from its contact page, but it is for announcements only. It is not a help line, so use the phone numbers, emails or the enquiry form for questions.
Admissions and student support
Candidates sign in to the SACAI candidate portal at portal.sacai.org.za/login/ with their candidate ID number or passport number. If you do not have a profile yet, the sign-in page lets you create an account.
Questions about examinations go to exams@sacai.org.za, and questions about certificates go to certification@sacai.org.za. Institutions that want to register with SACAI can use the website enquiry form and choose institution registration.
Umalusi, the quality council, directs questions about the costs and timing of script viewing, re-marking, re-checking and re-writes to SACAI. SACAI handles these itself under its own policies, so contact SACAI directly for them.
SACAI office address
SACAI’s office is at 278 Serene St, Garsfontein, Pretoria, 0159. Visits are by appointment only, so phone or email before you go. The office is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.
SACAI has full Umalusi accreditation, with effect from 1 October 2022, to assess the GETC: ABET and NSC examinations. It is one of three bodies that assess the NSC, alongside the IEB and the Department of Basic Education. Umalusi says it quality-assured all 24 subjects of the SACAI-administered NSC in 2024.
Escalation routes
SACAI has its own complaints mailbox, complaints@sacai.org.za, and its own complaints policies. Send the complaint in writing, include your candidate details and the subject or exam session involved, and keep a copy. SACAI does not publish a separate escalation phone line.
