University Of Potchefstroom Contact Details

There is no longer a University of Potchefstroom. The Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education merged with the University of North-West in 2004 to form North-West University, and the Potchefstroom site is one of its campuses. Applications and enquiries go to NWU.

Why the old name still matters

It is not merely trivia. Qualifications issued before the merger carry the former institution’s name, which is correct and verifiable, and employers verifying a degree sometimes query it. Verification is done through the university’s records office, or through the national qualifications verification service.

Applying

• Application windows close months before the year starts, and popular programmes close earliest.
• Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a place. Programmes are capped and selection is competitive.
• Apply for funding separately and at the same time. A funding application is not part of the admission application.
• Residence applications are separate again, and run out early.

No agent can secure you admission, a residence place or funding. Applications are made directly and nobody charges to submit one on your behalf. Pay only into the university’s published account, using your student number as the reference.
