Epping Home Affairs Contact Details
Epping Home Affairs is on 021 531 0553. Home Affairs offices open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 15:30, except on the last Wednesday of each month, when they open at 09:00. The national Home Affairs Call Centre is 0800 60 11 90. We read this on dha.gov.za on 24 September 2026.

Epping publishes a single telephone line, unlike larger offices which list several. Expect it to be busy, and have an alternative in mind.
The last-Wednesday opening time catches people out. Offices open an hour later that day, at 09:00. Arriving at 08:00 on the last Wednesday of the month means an hour in the queue before the doors open.
Note the closing time is 15:30, which is earlier than most government offices. Home Affairs also stops accepting new applicants some time before closing so that those already inside can be served.
Home Affairs warns about scammers
This is published by the department on its own homepage, and it is worth quoting because it names the exact tactics.
The DHA states that it and its officials do not render services outside of DHA offices or via social media, that bookings are free, and that you should not pay any bribes.
Three things follow. Anyone offering to process your ID or passport somewhere other than a Home Affairs office is not acting for Home Affairs. Anyone charging you to make a booking is defrauding you, because bookings cost nothing. And anyone asking for a payment to move you up a queue is asking for a bribe.
A social media account offering to arrange documents is not the department, whatever it is called.

The department also publishes offices further afield, including Malmesbury, Vredenburg, Vredendal, Citrusdal, Ceres, Worcester, Robertson, Caledon, Bredasdorp, George, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay, Beaufort West, Laingsburg and Prince Albert.
One entry looks wrong. Robertson is listed with numbers in the 021 468 block, which is the Cape Town office’s own dialling range, even though Robertson is a Breede Valley town roughly 160 kilometres away on a different code. If you need Robertson, confirm on 0800 60 11 90 before relying on that number.
What we are not publishing
The department’s contact pages name the office manager at each branch and, for district managers, publish their personal mobile numbers alongside a work landline.
We do not republish personal mobile numbers or the names attached to them. Ask for the Office Manager by title on the office number, or use the call centre. The office landlines above reach the same people and survive staff changes.
The email addresses published on those pages are also obscured by anti-spam scripting and do not display as readable text, so there is no branch mailbox to quote for Epping.
Before you go
Some services no longer need a Home Affairs office at all, and using them avoids the queue entirely.
The department runs an online application service for smart ID cards and passports, and it has arrangements with a number of bank branches that offer the same service. It publishes the participating bank branches on its site.
For a birth, death or marriage record, an amendment, or travel documents, check the relevant page on dha.gov.za first for the documents required. Arriving without a required document means starting again on another day, and at 15:30 closing there is little room for a second attempt.
