The NMMU accounts department, now Nelson Mandela University’s Student Accounts section, is on 041 504 4364 and studentaccounts@mandela.ac.za. Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) is now called Nelson Mandela University and is based in Gqeberha; the university asks that all account matters go only to its Student Accounts section.

Admissions and student support
Key points from the university’s 2026 Student Accounts Guide:
- The 2026 enrolment fee is R1 770, payable every year of registration.
- Cancelling a semester 1 module carries 0% fee liability up to 1 February 2026, rising to 100% from 2 May 2026.
- A sponsor must send a confirmation letter on official company letterhead to the employers mailbox.
- Change your address on the student portal or by email to studentbio@mandela.ac.za.
Paying and getting a refund
- Pay using your student number as the reference and keep your proof of payment.
- If the payment does not show on your account after 2 days, email the proof to studentaccounts@mandela.ac.za (international students: intfees@mandela.ac.za).
- For a refund, send the signed refund request with a bank confirmation letter to Student Accounts, and allow at least 3 days.

Post goes to P O Box 77000, Nelson Mandela University, Gqeberha 6031. The Student Accounts Guide does not give a walk-in office address or hours, so phone 041 504 4364 before you visit.
