PSIRA is the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority, and its Limpopo office is in Polokwane. The details below were read from psira.co.za on 2 September 2026.

Local channels

PSIRA uses one national mailbox for every office. [email protected] is not specific to Polokwane, so state the office and your PSIRA registration number in the subject line or the message will be routed by guesswork.

National numbers, which often answer faster than a branch line:

Address

Physical: 80 Hans van Rensburg Street, Polokwane. Postal: PO Box 11696, Bendor Park.

Confirm the postal code before posting anything. PSIRA publishes this office as “Polokwane 7001” and the box as “Bendor Park 2001”, but Polokwane and Bendor Park both fall in the 0700 range – 7001 is a Western Cape code and 2001 a Johannesburg one. The street address is sound; the codes as published are not, and post sent with them may go astray. Phone the office and ask, or deliver in person.

Services at this location

PSIRA registers security officers and security businesses, accredits training providers, inspects for compliance and enforces the industry code of conduct. The Polokwane office is the walk-in point for Limpopo – registration and renewal enquiries, certificate collection, and compliance matters affecting local security businesses.

Several things are done online rather than at a counter, and going in for them wastes a trip: online registration, individual verification, business verification, the accredited training provider list, and the wages-per-hour simulator are all published on PSIRA’s website.

Registration rules change by circular, and the current ones matter before you train. PSIRA has published a circular requiring mandatory pre-registration for new-entrant security officer training, and another discontinuing bulk printing of registration certificates for training providers. Check the current circulars before paying a training provider – training taken outside the required process may not count.

Parent organisation

The Polokwane office reports to PSIRA’s head office at Eco Glades 2 Office Park, Block B, 420 Witch-Hazel Avenue, Highveld Extension 70, Centurion, postal Private Bag X817, Pretoria 0001. PSIRA also runs offices in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, Durban, Gqeberha and Mthatha among others.

Report corruption, extortion or fraud involving PSIRA staff or registration to the independent Fraud and Ethics Hotline on 0860 333 036, by email to [email protected], or by SMS to 30916. It is run outside the authority, which is the point – do not route an allegation about an official through that official’s own office.

PSIRA falls under the Department of Police. Maladministration by the authority itself can be taken to the Public Protector, and a records request is made under PSIRA’s POPIA and PAIA manual.
