Body Corporate Complaint Contact Details
All Guides contactsWhen to escalate
A complaint about a body corporate starts inside the scheme, with the managing agent or the trustees, in writing. If that fails, the statutory route is the Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS), on toll-free 0800 000 653.
Step 1: the managing agent or trustees
- Write to the managing agent, or to the trustees if the scheme has no agent, and keep a copy
- Say what the problem is, what you want done, and by when
- Attach the documents that matter: levy statements, minutes, photographs, earlier emails
A written complaint with a date on it is what CSOS will ask for if the matter goes further.
