Insurance and medical aid cover a wide range of products in South Africa: short-term motor and household cover, life and funeral policies, gap cover, medical schemes and their administrators, and the brokers who sit between them. The distinction matters when you are trying to reach someone, because a scheme, its administrator and its broker are frequently three different organisations with three different sets of contact details.
This hub routes you to the correct one. Pages are grouped into bounded alphabetical directories and, where a provider runs distinct lines for claims, pre-authorisation, provider relations or complaints, those are kept separate rather than merged, since claims and pre-authorisation in particular are usually handled by teams that cannot action each other’s work.
A few practical notes. Pre-authorisation for a planned procedure is normally required in advance and is not the same queue as a claim submission. Funeral and life claims usually need documents rather than a phone call, and the document list is the thing worth confirming first. If your medical scheme has rejected a claim, the internal dispute process must be exhausted before an external body will consider it.
For unresolved disputes, the Council for Medical Schemes handles registered medical scheme complaints and the National Financial Ombud Scheme covers short-term and long-term insurance. Where a page lists an escalation route, it is the one published by that regulator, not an inferred one.

How listings are verified
Every contact detail published on this site is checked against the organisation’s own official source β its website, app, published documents or an official regulator listing β before it appears, and each page names the source it was checked against and the date it was checked. Where a detail cannot be confirmed from an official source, the page says so instead of publishing an unverified number. Directory listings, aggregator sites and user-submitted numbers are not used as sources. If you find a detail that has changed, the page’s contact form is the fastest way to have it re-checked.
