Employers and brokers have separate mailboxes: flexicareadmin@discovery.co.za for admin and billing, Quotationrequests_Health@discovery.co.za for quotation letters and queries, and GroupApplication@discovery.co.za for new business, contracts and onboarding.
Flexicare Plus benefits and claims support
- Specialist visit: unlike Flexicare Core, Plus covers one out-of-hospital specialist consultation per member per year, up to a R2,000 limit (a network specialist up to R1,400, and R600 for referred radiology or pathology). You pay the specialist upfront and claim back.
- GP and virtual consultations: unlimited network GP and virtual consultations at 100% of the Agreed Rate. Nurse consultations are not covered. You can change your network GP twice a year through Ask Flexicare on WhatsApp or on 0860 444 779.
- Medicine: over-the-counter medicine up to R115 per quarter (maximum R460 per member per year) at a network pharmacy, and chronic medicine for 27 conditions.
- Optional Emergency Cover: Discovery Emergency Cover (Core, Plus or Max) with R400,000 or R1 million limits, offered by Discovery Insure. For a trauma-related admission, call 0860 44 47 79 for authorisation.

Membership and policy requirements
At a provider, show your Flexicare membership card together with your ID, passport or driving licence. Waiting periods apply: one month in general, three months for dentistry and optometry, and 12 months for maternity, HIV and chronic conditions. A 12-month condition-specific exclusion may apply to pre-existing conditions.
Discovery’s 2025 Flexicare Plus leaflet for individuals lists monthly premiums of R499 for the principal member, R462 for a spouse or adult and R265 for a child, with Vitality Active at R145 per person. Confirm current pricing with Flexicare before you sign up.
The administrator is Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd (registration number 1997/013480/07), an authorised financial services provider. The underwriter is Auto & General Insurance Company Limited (registration number 1973/016880/06). Optional Emergency Cover is underwritten by Discovery Insure Ltd (registration number 2009/011882/06).
