The 086 000 2120 contact centre line is the number Medshield puts at the top of every page of its own site, so it is the correct first call for membership, benefit and claim questions. The 010 597 4700 number reaches corporate reception at the head office rather than the member contact centre, and the 010 597 4701 line exists specifically for members phoning from outside South Africa.
What this organisation provides
Medshield administers medical scheme cover for members and their registered dependants. The contact centre is the route for benefit confirmations, membership changes, claim queries and quotation requests. Medshield notes on its own contact page that a quotation request needs benefit-related information from you before an accurate quote can be produced, so have your current cover details and dependant information ready before you call or complete the online form.

Medshield publishes its service hours as follows: consultants are available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday, while the self-service channels run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
