A claim and an amended account are also different mailboxes. Resubmitting a corrected account to claims@ rather than claims.adjustments@ will have it treated as a fresh claim.
Two 0860 numbers that do different jobs
These are easy to confuse and they do not overlap.
0860 002 134 is the scheme number, for benefits, claims and support with the Sasolmed app.
0860 100 696 is web support only, and Sasolmed defines that narrowly: website registrations, username and password reminders, and OTP support. Its mailbox is digital.support@sasolmed.co.za.
So a locked login is 0860 100 696, and a rejected claim is 0860 002 134. Calling the wrong one means being transferred.
The fraud line runs around the clock
Sasolmed’s fraud and ethics hotline is 0800 004 500, described as a 24-hour confidential line, with an email address at discovery@tip-offs.com.
Two things are worth reading from that address. It is on an outside domain because the hotline is independently run, which is normal and not a warning sign. And the mailbox name points to Discovery, which reflects who administers the scheme behind the Sasolmed brand.
It is also the only Sasolmed channel that is not limited to weekday office hours.
Walk-in centres
Sasolmed runs walk-in centres for information and support on all its products and benefits, and their hours differ by location.

The Sandton centre is the restricted one: four days a week and six hours a day, with no Friday service. Secunda and Sasolburg, the two Sasol plant towns, keep the fuller week.
All three close before the telephone lines do, so a late-afternoon visit will not work even on a day the lines are still answering.
Choosing or changing your option
Sasolmed offers more than one benefit option, and which one you are on determines your network of providers and what is paid.
Option selection and changes go to membership@sasolmed.co.za, and the scheme publishes its rules, guides and application forms on its website along with a facility for finding a healthcare provider.
If you want the comparison explained rather than the forms, book a Client Liaison Consultant through clc.bookings@sasolmed.co.za. That is a person who will talk it through, which is usually more useful than a benefit schedule.
In an emergency
Sasolmed’s emergency medical services provider is ER24, on 084 124. That is a short national number and it operates around the clock.
Do not ring 0860 002 134 in an emergency. It is a weekday office-hours line and cannot dispatch an ambulance.
Sasolmed also offers MedXpress for ordering medicine or medical devices, an electronic health record your provider can access, and a SasChat facility on its website.
