Santam claims and emergencies

For an accident, break-in, fire or other emergency, and to lodge a claim, call Santam’s 24/7 SOS claims and emergency line on 0860 505 911, or use its WhatsApp claims self-service on the same number. The website also has Submit a claim, Track a claim and SOS services pages, and the Santam App on Google Play and the App Store. On the contact form you can choose Submit a claim, Claim enquiry, Quote request, Customer care, Broker enquiry or Vendor/Supplier enquiry; Santam says a representative will be in touch within 24 business hours.

Santam WhatsApp claims self-service

Santam’s WhatsApp claims guide says to save 0860 505 911 as a contact on your phone (or scan the QR code), then start the chat by typing “Hi” and follow the prompts. The service gives self-service guidance on registering a claim, lets you upload claim documents and photographs requested by the Santam claims team, and lets you chat to your dedicated claims consultant from Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 16h00. It also gives 24/7 emergency assistance: you can request roadside assistance or help after an accident or a home emergency, and value-added services such as home-drive assistance and home-based service support.

Santam complaints and fraud

Complaints and compliments go to 0860 102 725 or complaints@santam.co.za, or through the Complaints and Compliments page on santam.co.za. Santam’s complaints process document also lists an Internal Arbitrator, at Internal.Arbitrator@santam.co.za, for complaints that are not resolved.
