Both store pages carry a notice that operating hours may differ from normal and that you should contact the store to confirm, so phone ahead. The Paledi listing gives no store role mailbox. Build it does not publish a WhatsApp number for either store.

What this organisation provides

Build it is a building materials retailer. It opened its first standalone store in KwaZulu-Natal in 1985 and says it now has some 397 stores across South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique, all independently owned. The brand belongs to The SPAR Group Limited (registration number 1967/001572/06), whose terms describe both SPAR and the individual retailers as trading under the Build it name.

Services differ by store. Bela Bela lists deliveries, gas, credit, paint mixing, glass cutting, building plan reading and board cutting. Paledi lists deliveries, credit, paint mixing and building plan reading. The website links to credit options from RCS, Kanga and Capitec for home improvement.

The terms for the Build it 2U app say app orders can be delivered or collected. Collection orders are ready within two days of confirmation, and you then have five days to collect before the order is cancelled and refunded within 5 to 10 days. After a second failed delivery attempt the order is cancelled automatically and the goods are refunded, but not the delivery fee. Collected goods go back to the store within 10 days under that store’s normal returns process.
