How to become a supplier for Cashbuild online
To sell through Cashbuild Online, use the “Become an Online Only Vendor” link in the site footer, which opens the contact form at cashbuild.co.za/contact-us?id_contact=19 with the subject already selected. All three stores list the same trading hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:00, Saturday 07:00 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:00 to 14:00. Cashbuild notes that hours may vary on public holidays. These stores list the same hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:00, Saturday 07:00 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:00 to 14:00. Cashbuild lists no store in Pietermaritzburg itself; the nearest is Howick, about 19 km away. Returns and refunds
Cashbuild’s Returns Policy (May 2025 version) allows defective products, or products unsuitable for a purpose you told Cashbuild about, to be returned within 3 months for a refund or exchange. You can return any product in good condition to your nearest store with the original proof of purchase or online tax invoice, if it is unused, in its original packaging and sellable. Refunds are processed through a service provider and can take up to 10 working days. Cashbuild needs a bank account confirmation document and may verify your identity. Cash and credit refunds are not authorised, delivery and handling fees are not refundable, and a 5% breakage allowance applies to delivered concrete tiles and bricks.
Cashbuild online deliveries
Cashbuild Online delivers throughout South Africa within 2 to 5 working days, Monday to Saturday (not on Sundays or public holidays). Bricks and cement may take longer because of their bulk, and delivery and handling fees are shown at checkout. When ordering, you must select the Cashbuild store closest to your delivery address, because each store delivers only in its own area and sets the stock and prices you see. Deliveries are offloaded up to 2 metres either side of the truck, and only the registered customer or a nominated person may sign. If goods arrive wrong or damaged, refuse them and note it on both copies of the invoice, countersigned by the driver. If you find a defect after accepting a delivery, contact Cashbuild during office hours or email cashbuildonline@cashbuild.co.za.
Online orders are paid by Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT, Google Pay or Apple Pay. A select number of online stores accept the Cashbuild Payment Card, and RCS cards cannot be used online. To pay a Cashbuild quotation by EFT, select CASHBUILD SA (PTY) LTD from your bank’s Public Recipient list and use your QTS number as the reference. EFTs take up to 72 hours to reflect.
Cashbuild services
- Cashbuild Group Payment Card: open one in store to budget for building projects. You can add a secondary card, transfer funds electronically and reload any time.
- VIC Loyalty: a card for Very Important Customers of Cashbuild and P&L Hardware, with rebates based on purchases. Store managers confirm VIC status and targets by phone each month.
- Cashbuild Shopper: give your number at the till to hear about local specials and enter monthly draws.
- Chat Commerce: get a quote from your local store by SMS.
How the Cashbuild Payment Card works
The Cashbuild Payment Card (CPC) is a prepaid card for setting aside money for building, DIY or renovation projects. It is not credit. You load money onto it, reload any time, add a secondary card linked to the main account and transfer funds electronically. Check your card balance through the online statements login at cbstatements.acscustomers.co.za, linked from Cashbuild’s Value Added Services page. If you forget your PIN, go to your closest store: staff send you an OTP and reset the PIN on the Cash Payment machine while you swipe the card.
Cashbuild Payment Card application and requirements
There is no online Cashbuild account application. The Payment Card can only be opened in person at your closest Cashbuild store. You need:
- a CPA pre-agreement form, completed in store
- a valid ID, driver’s licence or passport
- a valid South African cellphone number, which is linked to the account
- a 4-digit PIN that you create, and your signature on the card’s terms and conditions
Cashbuild loans and credit applications
Cashbuild does not handle loan or credit applications itself. Credit for Cashbuild purchases, including building material loans, is through its finance partner Capitec, at a discounted interest rate. Credit of up to R500 000 is offered. Cashbuild does not offer lay-byes; it offers the Payment Card instead.
To apply for Cashbuild credit through Capitec, you need:
- a standard Cashbuild quote, obtained in store and not older than 30 days
- a valid South African ID book or smart ID card (you must be 18 or older)
- your latest 3 salary slips
- a bank statement showing 3 consecutive salary deposits, if your salary is not paid into Capitec

Who qualifies for a Cashbuild account?
The Cashbuild Payment Card is prepaid, not credit. You open it in store with a valid ID, driver’s licence or passport, a South African cellphone number and a completed CPA pre-agreement form, and you create a 4-digit PIN.
