Computer Mania Somerset Mall Contact Details
A device is not a backup. If your only copy of something lives on the laptop, you do not have a backup, you have a single point of failure. Keep at least one copy somewhere else, and at least one copy off the premises.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory and is not a retailer.
Before something goes wrong
Professional data recovery from a failed drive is expensive and is not guaranteed.
- Keep more than one copy, on more than one kind of storage, with one of them elsewhere. A fire or a burglary takes the laptop and the external drive next to it.
- Test that a backup actually restores. An untested backup is a hope, not a copy.
- Back up and factory reset before handing a device in for repair, and remove any memory card.
- Record the serial number for warranty, insurance and a police report.
Buying, and your rights
Defective goods may be returned within six months for repair, replacement or refund, with the choice yours, alongside the manufacturer warranty. Ask whether stock is official local stock, since a grey import may carry no local warranty.
