Defy is a South African appliance manufacturer, part of the Beko group. Its service team handles product support, repairs and warranty matters. The contact details below were read from defy.co.za on 2 September 2026.
Official contact channels
- Service team: 086 100 3339
- Email: [email protected]
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
- Online: the support contact form on defy.co.za
Weekdays only. The service line does not run at weekends, which is when an appliance failure is most likely to be noticed – log it through the online form over a weekend so the request is already in the queue on Monday.
Defy publishes one service number covering product advice, accessories, feedback and repairs. There is no separate sales or complaints line.
What this organisation provides
Defy manufactures and supports refrigeration, cooking appliances, dishwashers, small kitchen appliances, laundry appliances and air conditioners, and publishes a solar off-grid range.
Three things on its site solve problems without a call, and are worth trying first:
- User manual bank – downloadable manuals for all products
- Troubleshooting and DIY fixes – guided help by appliance type
- Authorised service centre information – where repairs are actually carried out
Use an authorised service centre, not any repairer. Work done by an unauthorised technician can void the remaining warranty on an appliance, and Defy publishes the authorised list precisely so you can check before booking someone.
Address and operating information
Defy publishes no head office street address on its support pages. Appliances are sold through retailers rather than directly, and Defy provides a Find a Retailer facility.
Its parent is Beko, which operates through subsidiaries in 57 countries with production facilities in 13, including South Africa.
Support and escalation routes
Have the details ready before you make contact. Defy’s support form asks for the model number, serial number, purchase date, retailer name and proof of purchase – an invoice photo, JPG or PNG under 5MB. Without proof of purchase a warranty claim stalls at the first step, so find the invoice before you phone.
Defy also runs a warranty registration facility. Registering when you buy is what makes the later claim straightforward.
Your legal rights do not depend on the manufacturer warranty. Under the Consumer Protection Act you have six months to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for purpose, and that right runs against the retailer who sold you the appliance – so for a recent purchase the shop is often the faster route than the manufacturer. The Act also gives a three-month warranty on repair work itself.
Beyond Defy, a consumer dispute goes to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, both free of charge. A dangerous or defective appliance can also be reported to the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications, which oversees product safety. A personal information complaint goes to the Information Regulator.
