Shoprite is one of South Africa largest grocery retailers. It runs three separate toll-free lines with three different sets of operating hours, and picking the right one matters – the delivery line is open three hours later than customer care. Everything below was read from the Shoprite Talk To Us page on 31 August 2026.
Official contact channels
- Customer Care Line: 0800 01 07 09 – Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00; weekends and public holidays 09:00 to 17:00
- Sixty60 Contact Centre, for deliveries: 0800 00 6060, [email protected] – every day 08:00 to 20:00, including weekends and public holidays
- Xtra Savings Support Centre: 0800 33 33 85, [email protected] – every day 08:00 to 18:00, including weekends and public holidays
- Online: the Send Us A Message form on shoprite.co.za, answered within 48 hours
All three are 0800 numbers, so they are genuinely toll-free from a South African landline.
The hours are the useful part. Sixty60 runs until 20:00 seven days a week, which is the line to use for a delivery that has not arrived or an order that is wrong – exactly the problem that tends to happen in the evening, when general customer care has closed. Customer care keeps the shortest hours of the three and opens an hour later at weekends.
What this organisation provides
Shoprite operates supermarkets nationally, the Sixty60 on-demand grocery delivery service, and the Xtra Savings rewards programme. Each of those has its own support channel above, and they do not substitute for one another.
- Sixty60 handles anything about an app order – a missing or substituted item, a late or failed delivery, a refund on an order, or a driver issue. Note its mailbox is on the sixty60.co.za domain rather than shoprite.co.za, which is expected.
- Xtra Savings handles the rewards card – points not credited, a lost card, or a discount not applied at the till.
- Customer Care covers everything else, including in-store service, product quality and general complaints.
Before contacting Shoprite, have the store name and the date, and the till slip for an in-store matter. For a Sixty60 problem, have the order number and the delivery address, and photograph anything damaged or incorrect before it is disposed of.
Address and operating information
Shoprite does not publish a head office street address or individual store telephone numbers on its Talk To Us page. Store addresses and trading hours are published per store on the website, and they vary considerably by location and are shorter on Sundays and public holidays.
The written form carries a published 48-hour response commitment, which makes it the better route for anything needing a record – a refund request, a billing dispute, or a complaint you may later escalate.
Support and escalation routes
Start with the store for an in-store matter, or the relevant contact centre above, and ask for a reference number. Put a complaint in writing through the message form so it carries a date and the 48-hour commitment applies.
If Shoprite does not resolve it, the routes are:
- Goods, refunds, pricing and service: a consumer complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, administered by the National Consumer Commission
- Food safety, spoiled product or suspected food-borne illness: the environmental health department of the municipality in which the store trades, which inspects and licenses food premises
On a pricing dispute, the Consumer Protection Act requires that where a product displays more than one price, the lower one applies. Photograph the shelf price before leaving the store – that photograph is the whole case if the matter is escalated.
