Huawei sells smartphones, tablets, wearables and networking devices in South Africa and runs a local consumer support operation. The contact details below were read from the Huawei South Africa support page on 31 August 2026.
Official contact channels
- Support hotline: 0860 861 111 – Monday to Sunday, 08:00 to 20:00
- WhatsApp: 082 075 5042 – Monday to Sunday, 08:00 to 20:00
- Live chat: chatbot 24/7; human agents Monday to Sunday, 08:00 to 20:00
- Email: the email support route on the Huawei support page
Huawei runs seven-day support until 20:00, which is unusually generous for consumer electronics in South Africa – weekends and evenings included. The chatbot is available around the clock, but a human agent only within those hours.
Huawei notes that these channels operate in English.
What this organisation provides
Huawei South Africa supports its consumer devices – phones, tablets, laptops, wearables and home broadband routers – through the hotline, chat and an online store, alongside authorised service centres for repairs.
Before contacting Huawei, have the device model and serial or IMEI number, your proof of purchase, and a clear description of the fault including any on-screen error. The IMEI is available by dialling *#06# on the handset, and having it ready is the single thing that speeds up a support call most.
Back up your device and remove any screen lock or account lock before sending it for repair. A service centre generally cannot work on a locked device, and this is the commonest cause of delay at intake. Remove SIM and memory cards too – repairers do not accept responsibility for data.
Where the device was bought on a contract from a network rather than from Huawei, the network handles billing and the contract while Huawei handles the hardware and warranty. Establish which you need before calling.
Address and operating information
Huawei does not publish a South African head office street address on its consumer support page. Repairs are handled through authorised service centres, which the support hotline will direct you to – do not hand a device to an unauthorised repairer, since that generally voids the manufacturer warranty.
The 0860 prefix is a national share-call number, charged at the operator rate rather than as a local call.
Support and escalation routes
Raise the matter on 0860 861 111 or through WhatsApp or live chat, and ask for a case or job reference. Get any warranty decline in writing with the reason stated – that wording is what an escalation turns on.
Know which of three routes applies, because they are different:
- A defect within six months of delivery: the Consumer Protection Act gives you a choice of repair, replacement or refund against the seller – the shop or network you bought from, not Huawei.
- A manufacturer warranty claim: handled by Huawei through an authorised service centre.
- Unresolved consumer complaints: the National Consumer Commission, which administers the Act.
Keep the original packaging and proof of purchase until the warranty expires – both are routinely requested, and a claim is materially harder without them.
