rain Contact Details

Verified 14 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

The rain contact number is 081 610 1000. rain calls it the Customer Engagement Centre and names it, in its own terms and conditions, as the number for both support and complaints. The same number appears as the customer support contact in the structured data on rain’s website, www.rain.co.za. rain is a digital-first mobile and home internet network, so there is no general support email address and no published list of call centre hours; day-to-day help otherwise runs through askrain, rain’s support assistant. Everything below was read from rain.co.za on 14 September 2026.

Is the rain contact number available 24 hours?

rain does not publish operating hours for 081 610 1000, and it does not advertise a 24-hour support line or a separate 24-hour WhatsApp number. We have not found hours on its website, FAQs or terms, so this page does not state any. If you cannot get through, askrain is the channel that does not depend on an agent being free.

Does rain have a WhatsApp number or support email?

rain does not publish a WhatsApp support number for customers to message, and it does not publish a general customer service email address. What its terms do say is that rain may contact you about your account by phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp or push notification, and that you can opt in or out of WhatsApp and push notifications at any time through a rain channel. They also note that if you use WhatsApp to deal with rain, you are responsible for activity on your number and device.

The two email addresses rain does publish are for narrow purposes only:

  • legal@rain.co.za for legal matters, not for router faults or billing questions
  • rica@rain.co.za for sending the recipient’s RICA documents when a SIM transfer is allowed, for example to a family member on a legacy product

Sending an ordinary support question to either address will not get it answered faster. For anything else, call 081 610 1000.

Billing, payments and cancellations

rain’s products are sold without long-term contracts, and its terms set out how money and cancellations work:

  • Disputing a debit: you have 14 days after a payment is processed to dispute the transaction. The reference on your bank statement will read “rain”.
  • Disputed invoices: if you dispute part of an invoice in good faith, you must still pay the undisputed portion by the due date; any credit due is refunded once the dispute is resolved.
  • Payment arrangements: rain offers instalment plans for outstanding amounts, weekly or monthly, with a minimum instalment of R50 and no added interest or penalties. Missing an instalment can lead to suspension.
  • Cancelling: you can submit a cancellation request by calling the Customer Engagement Centre or through another rain channel. A request is not the cancellation itself; the service ends on the date rain processes it, and fees run until then.
  • Returning devices: if a router or other device belongs to rain, it must be returned when you cancel, and outstanding amounts remain payable.

Make a note of the date you asked to cancel and any reference you receive, because the effective cancellation date is what decides your final bill.

Signing up and the rain website

You register for rain products online at www.rain.co.za, or through rain’s stores and sales agents, which its terms list alongside the website, app and Customer Engagement Centre as rain channels. You must give complete and accurate personal details, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to agree on their behalf. Every SIM card has to be RICA-registered. Standard delivery in major metropolitan areas is free unless stated otherwise during the order.

rain office and stores

The address rain publishes is its registered office at Cape Quarter Square, 27 Somerset Road, Cape Town. It is a corporate address, not a service desk, so do not take a faulty router there. For in-person help use the store locator on rain.co.za, or call 081 610 1000 first to check whether the problem can be solved without a visit.

rain complaints and escalation

  • Raise the complaint with the Customer Engagement Centre on 081 610 1000 and write down the reference and date.
  • If rain does not resolve it, rain (Pty) Ltd, registration 1996/013739/07, is a member of the Internet Service Providers’ Association. ISPA can be reached at queries@ispa.org.za or on 010 500 1200.
  • For a complaint about how your personal information is handled, rain’s privacy policy confirms your right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator under POPIA.

rain states that nothing in its terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Avoid rain phishing messages

rain says it will never ask you to provide personal information or verify your account by clicking a link in an email, and tells customers not to respond to such phishing or spoofing emails. If a message like that arrives, do not click it. Contact rain yourself on 081 610 1000 instead. The same caution applies to “rain agents” who contact you first on WhatsApp asking for payment or banking details.

rain Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd is registration number 1947/024435/07, and it operates together with its subsidiaries, including rain (Pty) Ltd.
