TFG Connect Contact Details
TFG Connect is the mobile service run by The Foschini Group, provided by Foschini Retail Group (Pty) Ltd under NCRCP36. It sells SIM-only plans that can be billed to a TFG Money Account, and it runs on the MTN network without being MTN.
Official contact details
- From a TFG Connect SIM: dial 135, which is free
- From any other phone: 0860 663 663
- WhatsApp: 060 016 1026
- Email: customercare@tfgconnect.co.za
- Operating hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, Saturday 08:00 to 13:00
Note that the free 135 call only works from a TFG Connect SIM, which is no use when the problem is that your SIM is not working. Save 0860 663 663 and the WhatsApp number on a second device before you need them.
The MTN trap, which catches almost everyone
TFG Connect uses the MTN network, so people reasonably assume MTN vouchers will work. They do not. TFG Connect states plainly that MTN airtime and data vouchers cannot be used to top up a TFG Connect SIM. Buying an MTN voucher for a TFG Connect number wastes the money and there is nothing the call centre can do about a redeemed voucher.
Where you can actually recharge
- TFG Connect vouchers, bought in any TFG store
- Dial *135# and pay with your TFG Money Account
- Online at tfgconnect.co.za
- Eezi Airtime vouchers at your nearest Flash shop, or a 1Voucher at a participating outlet
- TFG Connect bundles on the TymeBank banking app, which TFG says are discounted
- The Bash app
The TymeBank route is worth knowing precisely because it is cheaper, and almost nobody looks for airtime inside a banking app.
The plans
There are two shapes. A top-up subscription is month-to-month with no contract and no commitment, cancellable and switchable at any time, billed to your TFG Money Account, with the airtime or data loaded monthly. Pay as you go is exactly that: recharge when you want, and you can port an existing number in. Published month-to-month plans run from 2GB anytime at R35 a month up to 10GB anytime with 1GB WhatsApp at R169, with airtime-plus-WhatsApp and minute bundles alongside them.
Because a subscription is billed to a TFG Money Account, it is a credit account matter as well as a mobile one. That is why the NCRCP36 registration appears on the site, and it is why cancelling the plan and settling the account are two different actions.
Getting a SIM, and porting
SIMs are sold in most TFG stores nationwide, which includes the group retail brands rather than a separate shop. You can keep your existing number by porting it. Do not cancel your old service before the port completes, because a cancelled number cannot be ported.
If a query is not resolved
Email customercare@tfgconnect.co.za so there is a written record, and keep the reference. TFG Connect is a mobile service and therefore falls under the ICASA end-user regulations: an unresolved complaint can be escalated to ICASA. A dispute about the TFG Money Account behind the billing is a credit matter and goes to the National Credit Regulator instead.
