Official contact channels

Call +27 15 962 8467 for your student account or a quotation for fees. If you have a question about an Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD), email aodstudentfin@univen.ac.za; the university says no AOD application is processed without an approved payment arrangement. When you cannot get through, the main switchboard is +27 15 962 8000.

Services and responsibilities

The Student Finance Office deals with money owed to the university, not with loans. Points the university publishes:

  • Standard academic registration fee: R5,000 for self-funded students, or for students whose sponsor confirmation has not been received.
  • Residence deposit: R4,900.
  • Monthly statements go to each student’s official University of Venda email address, and accounts are viewed on MyAccess.
  • Use your student number as the payment reference.
  • A student cannot be unblocked for certificate purposes while the funder has not settled the outstanding balance.

Office/address information

The university’s finance pages used here do not give a street address or office hours for the Student Finance Office. Phone +27 15 962 8467 before travelling to campus.

Applications and escalation

Accounts outstanding for three years or more may be handed over to a debt-collection agency. In that case the university says the balance must be settled in full, directly with that agency, before you can register. For an AOD or payment arrangement, write to aodstudentfin@univen.ac.za. Other finance contacts are in our banking and finance section.
