The office is open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 16:00 and on the last Saturday of each month from 08:30 to 11:30. These details were read on mpowafin.co.za on 16 September 2026. On the same day we confirmed on the National Credit Regulator’s register that MPOWA Finance (Pty) Ltd is a registered credit provider, NCRCP6666.

The Contact Us page shows an “Email us” label without an address, so the only general mailbox we found is the one on the lending policy page. Mpowa publishes no WhatsApp number. The NCR register lists the phone number as 086 122 8228, which is the same number written differently.
What this organisation provides
MPOWA Finance (Pty) Ltd (company number 2011/128825/07) is an online short-term lender. It offers loans of R500 to R7 000 for terms under six months, and the full amount is repaid on your next payday by debit order. You apply online and upload three months of bank statements or payslips. Mpowa then calls you to record your contract details. If you apply by 15:00 and your documents and employment are confirmed that day, the cash is paid at 17:00. Before the money is released you must approve a DebiCheck mandate in your banking app, by 16:00 on weekdays or 11:00 on Saturdays.
You must have been in your current job for at least three months, and Mpowa lends anywhere in South Africa. Its lending policy lists an initiation fee of 16.5% on the first R1 000 and 10% on the rest, plus VAT. It also lists a monthly service fee of R60 plus VAT, and interest of 5% a month on your first loan in a calendar year and 3% on later loans that year. You can apply for a higher amount after repaying three loans. The insurance products Mpowa offers are underwritten by Guardrisk Life Ltd and administered by Turbo Financial Services.
Address and operating information
Mpowa’s postal address is Postnet Suite 462, Private Bag X9, Benmore 2010. Two different physical addresses are published. Mpowa’s lending policy page gives 191 Jan Smuts Avenue, Rosebank, Johannesburg 2196, while the NCR register gives 410 Jan Smuts Avenue, Rosebank 2196. Phone 0861 228 228 to confirm before you visit.
Office hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00, and the site says payments are made at 17:00. On the last Saturday of each month the office opens from 08:30 to 11:30, with payments made at 12:00.
We checked Mpowa against the warning signs we use for lenders. Its website runs on its own domain, lists an 0861 number alongside the mobile number, discloses its fees and matches the NCR record. Its renewal policy says no upfront fees are charged when you reapply. If anyone using the Mpowa name asks you for a payment before a loan is paid out, or contacts you from a different website, stop and call 0861 228 228.
Support and escalation routes
- If your banking or employment details change, tell Mpowa before your payday. Its FAQ warns that your credit record can be affected if you do not.
- Raise a problem with a loan on 0861 228 228 or at loans4u@mpowafin.co.za, and keep a copy of your contract.
- Take unresolved credit agreement complaints to the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627 or complaints@ncr.org.za.
- You can also take a complaint about the lender to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900 or info@nfosa.co.za. Mpowa’s PAIA manual sends refused information requests to the Information Regulator.
