The Contact Us page shows an “Email us” label without an address, so the only general mailbox we found is the one on the lending policy page. The NCR register lists the phone number as 086 122 8228, which is the same number written differently. The lending policy page prints the fax as 08668937804, which has one digit more than the fax on the contact page and looks like a typing error, so use 0866 893 708.

The Mpowa Finance phone number is 0861 228 228. It is the call centre and customer service number for loan applications, loan status and repayments, and it is the number Mpowa prints in the footer of the mpowafin.co.za pages we read. Phone during office hours, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00, and have your ID number and the email address you registered with ready.

For a question that is not urgent, the Contact Us page has an enquiry form that asks for your name, surname, email, contact number, a subject and the enquiry, and Mpowa says it will get back to you as soon as possible. For urgent information the same page says to phone or email instead.

Mpowa Finance WhatsApp number

Mpowa publishes no WhatsApp number and has no live chat. Office hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00, and the site says payments are made at 17:00. On the last Saturday of each month the office opens from 08:30 to 11:30, with payments made at 12:00.

Mpowa Finance is not open 24 hours. Its working hours are Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00, and on weekends it is open only on the last Saturday of each month, 08:30 to 11:30. Outside these hours only the online application and login work. Mpowa does not publish public holiday or Christmas working hours.

Mpowafin.co.za login and forgot password

To log in to your Mpowa Finance account, go to mpowafin.co.za/session/users/sign_in and enter your email address and password. After logging in you can check the status of your loan application, and once a loan is repaid you log in to reapply for a new loan each month.

Mpowa Finance loans: how they work

MPOWA Finance (Pty) Ltd (company number 2011/128825/07) is an online short-term lender. It offers loans of R500 to R7 000 for terms under six months, and the full amount is repaid on your next payday by debit order. You apply online and upload three months of bank statements or payslips. Mpowa then calls you to record your contract details. If you apply by 15:00 and your documents and employment are confirmed that day, the cash is paid at 17:00. Before the money is released you must approve a DebiCheck mandate in your banking app, by 16:00 on weekdays or 11:00 on Saturdays.

You must have been in your current job for at least three months, and Mpowa lends anywhere in South Africa. Its lending policy lists an initiation fee of 16.5% on the first R1 000 and 10% on the rest, plus VAT. It also lists a monthly service fee of R60 plus VAT, and interest of 5% a month on your first loan in a calendar year and 3% on later loans that year. You can apply for a higher amount after repaying three loans. The insurance products Mpowa offers are underwritten by Guardrisk Life Ltd and administered by Turbo Financial Services.
