Absa does not publish direct numbers for individual branches. Use the national lines below, and locate the branch itself through the branch finder in the app or on absa.co.za.

Stopping a debit order you did not agree to
This is the branch query that most often gets a wrong answer, so it is worth knowing the rules yourself.
- You can dispute an unauthorised debit order at your bank, and for many disputes you can do it yourself in the banking app.
- Disputing the debit does not cancel the underlying contract. If you signed up for something, cancel it with the provider in writing as well, or it will simply be presented again.
- DebiCheck debit orders require you to have approved the mandate electronically. If you never approved one, say so, because that changes the dispute.
- Act quickly. Dispute windows are limited, and older debits are harder to reverse.
Two rules that prevent most losses
The bank never asks for a PIN, a password or an OTP, and never asks you to move money to a safe account. Caller identity can be forged, so a call that appears to come from the bank’s own number proves nothing; hang up and dial it yourself.
If the bank’s own complaints process does not resolve the matter, the National Financial Ombud Scheme handles banking complaints free and binds the bank. Polokwane is on the 015 code. Numbers were read from absa.co.za on 25 August 2026.
