RCS is a South African consumer finance provider whose personal loan sits alongside its store cards, credit cards, Mobicred and insurance products. The contact details below were read from the RCS personal loan page on 2 September 2026.
Official provider route
- Call centre: 0861 SAY RCS, which dials as 0861 729 727
- Email: [email protected]
- Apply: the online personal loan application on rcs.co.za
- Self-service: the RCS self-service portal for existing accounts
0861 SAY RCS is a mnemonic – use 0861 729 727 if your handset does not map letters. RCS runs one call centre number across its products rather than a separate loans line, so say which product you are calling about.
The mailbox is on rcsgroup.co.za while the website is rcs.co.za. Both belong to RCS.
Product or service support
The RCS personal loan is applied for online, and RCS states a decision can come in as little as 15 minutes. That speed is the product’s selling point and also the reason to read the terms before accepting – a fast approval is still a credit agreement.
Know which RCS product you hold before calling. A store card, a credit card, Mobicred and a personal loan are different agreements with different terms, and the answer to a balance or settlement question depends on which one you mean.
RCS also sells insurance products including cover for income protection following death, which are separate agreements again.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
RCS is a registered credit provider, NCR registration NCRCP 38. That number is the check worth making before borrowing, and it is what you quote in any complaint.
A registered provider must run an affordability assessment, disclose the total cost of credit up front, and stay within the interest and fee caps set by the National Credit Act. A lender that skips the affordability check or will not put the total repayment in writing is not complying.
Never pay a fee up front to release a loan. A legitimate credit provider deducts its charges from the advance rather than asking for payment beforehand.
Escalation route
RCS publishes dedicated fraud and whistleblowing mailboxes – [email protected] and [email protected] – separate from the general call centre.
Raise a dispute in writing first, quoting the agreement number. RCS itself points customers to the National Financial Ombud Scheme ([email protected]) for unresolved complaints.
A credit agreement dispute may also go to the National Credit Regulator, quoting NCRCP 38, or the Credit Ombud. If you are over-indebted, debt review through a registered debt counsellor is available under the National Credit Act.
