MBD Attorneys is Munnik Basson Dagama Incorporated, a law firm whose work includes specialised collections and recoveries. The contact details below were read from mbdinc.co.za on 2 September 2026.

Official contact channels

011 560 6598 is a fax, published directly beneath the telephone number. The firm also runs “Manage my accounts” and account payment facilities on its site.

MBD Attorneys is not the same organisation as MBD Credit Solutions. The initials are shared and the two are routinely confused. MBD Credit Solutions, the debt collection business, was rebranded and now trades as Nutun. If your letter or SMS names Nutun, this firm is not who is contacting you – check which name is on the document.

What this organisation provides

Munnik Basson Dagama Inc is a firm of attorneys with a practice covering specialised collections and recoveries, alongside its other legal practice areas.

If they are contacting you, they act for the creditor – not for you. That is not a criticism, it is the relationship: they cannot give you legal advice, and anything you tell them is on the record for their client. If you need advice, that has to come from your own attorney or from Legal Aid South Africa.

Address and operating information

The physical address is in Sandton but the postal bag and Docex are in Randburg – use the correct one for what you are sending. Docex is the legal document exchange and is what attorneys use to serve documents on each other.

Support and escalation routes

Before you pay anything, ask for the debt in writing. Request the name of the original creditor, the account number, a full statement showing how the amount was calculated, and the date of your last payment or acknowledgement. Put the request in writing and keep a copy.

Check whether the debt has prescribed before you pay or admit anything. Under the Prescription Act most ordinary unsecured debts prescribe after three years without payment or acknowledgement, and the National Credit Act prohibits collecting a prescribed debt. The trap is that making a payment or admitting the debt restarts the clock – so a small payment made to be helpful can revive a debt that was already unenforceable. If you think three years have passed, say so in writing and do not pay pending an answer.

If a summons arrives, the deadline matters more than anything else on this page: you generally have 10 court days from service to file a notice of intention to defend. Missing it allows default judgment without your side being heard.

Where things go wrong, the routes differ by who is at fault:

The firm publishes a PAIA manual, a privacy statement, a POPI complaint form and a personal information request form – the route to ask what data it holds on you.
