Kiara Lodge Contact Details

Kiara Lodge is a Free State resort on the edge of the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, a short drive from Clarens. Unlike some resorts in the same group, it publishes no reception number of its own: everything runs through one central booking line.

Local channels

There is no direct number for the lodge itself and no Free State landline published anywhere on its official page, so a question that needs someone standing at the resort has to go through the central line and be passed on. Because that line closes at 16:30 and does not operate at weekends, a Saturday arrival problem is best pre empted on the Friday.

Address

R712, Dihlabeng, Free State 9701. The R712 is the road between Clarens and Bethlehem, running along the edge of the national park, so the lodge is reached from a provincial route rather than from a town street. Allow for the drive from Clarens rather than assuming the village is on the doorstep.

Services at this location

The resort is built around facilities rather than a location in town: a heated indoor pool and a temperature controlled pool, a dam used for water activities, a waterslide, zipline, trampoline, tennis, table tennis and table soccer, a children playground, a Body Bliss Day Spa, and an on site shop, restaurant and bar. Braai areas, linen and a lockup safe are listed among the unit amenities.

Two published conditions are worth knowing before you arrive. Access to the listed facilities is sold as an Access Pass at one hundred rand, which covers every occupant of your unit for the whole stay, and the resort states the pass is free when you book directly. Internet is capped at one hundred megabytes free per day per unit with additional vouchers sold at reception, and the resort warns openly that its remoteness limits the speed available.

For a complaint, ask at the resort first and get a name, then take it to the booking line in writing with your reservation number. Accommodation is a consumer service and an unresolved dispute goes to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272, with the National Consumer Commission above it. Since the national park adjoins the property, note that anything concerning conservation areas or park access is a South African National Parks matter rather than a resort one.
