If someone has contacted you about money owed on a TFG account, the route to TFG itself is its account enquiries line. TFG Limited publishes no separate debt collections department, no dedicated collections number, and names no external collection agency on its own contact page. Arrears balances, settlement figures and payment arrangements are handled on the account enquiries line below.
Official provider route
- Account enquiries, South Africa: 0860 037 755 (published by TFG Limited as Account Inquiries RSA)
- Account enquiries from outside South Africa: +27 21 938 7560
- Account and payment email: [email protected]
- TFG head office switchboard: +27 21 938 1911
- Head office: Stanley Lewis Centre, 340 Voortrekker Road, Parow East, 7500, Cape Town
The payments mailbox sits on the foschini.co.za domain rather than tfg.co.za because the account book remains with the original Foschini entity. That is expected and is not a sign of a fraudulent address.
Product or service support
- Arrears balances, settlement figures, instalments and statements: 0860 037 755
- Payment arrangements and proof of payment: [email protected]
- Orders, deliveries, returns and store issues are a different line: 0860 834 834
- General customer services email: [email protected]
Do not use the customer services line for an arrears or settlement query. TFG splits the two: the account book is serviced on 0860 037 755, while 0860 834 834 handles retail and order matters. Asking the wrong line for a settlement figure will usually mean a transfer.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
- Have your TFG account number and your South African ID number ready before you call
- A settlement figure is quoted to a date, so ask what date the figure is valid until
- If a caller claims to be collecting a TFG debt, ask for their name, their company and their Council for Debt Collectors registration number
- Check that company or surname against the Council for Debt Collectors active register before you pay anyone
- Never pay into a personal bank account, and confirm any banking details directly with TFG on 0860 037 755 rather than with the caller
The Council for Debt Collectors keeps a searchable register of registered debt collectors that can be searched by surname, area code or company name. An external party collecting a consumer debt in South Africa has to be registered with it.
Escalation route
- Council for Debt Collectors, for the conduct of an external registered debt collector: 012 804 9808, [email protected], 310 Brooks Street, Menlopark, Pretoria, 0081
- National Credit Regulator, where TFG is collecting on its own account book: 0860 627 627
- Raise the complaint with TFG on 0860 037 755 first and get a reference number, as both bodies will ask whether you gave the provider a chance to resolve it
Which body applies depends on who is collecting. If the caller is an outside agency acting for TFG, its conduct falls under the Council for Debt Collectors. If TFG is pursuing the debt itself as the credit provider, that is a National Credit Act matter for the National Credit Regulator.
