Applying for a job at PEP
- Apply through the published careers channel only. A CV emailed to a general enquiries mailbox or handed in at a till does not enter the recruitment system
- Store-level positions are usually advertised through the store or the region. Ask the store manager where a vacancy is posted rather than leaving a CV on the counter
- Keep a record of what you applied for and when. Recruitment for a large retailer runs in cycles and a role may be readvertised months later

Recruitment scams
- No legitimate employer charges you to apply. Any request for money for an application, a uniform, a medical, training or a place on a shortlist is a scam
- A large, well-known retailer is a favourite name for recruitment fraud precisely because the brand is trusted. Verify any offer against the Pepkor number above before acting on it
- Never send a certified identity document, bank details or a SARS number to a WhatsApp number or a free webmail address claiming to recruit for PEP
- Interviews are not conducted by asking you to buy airtime or transfer a deposit, whatever the reason given
