Vodacom Cancellations Contact Details

Verified 14 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

Vodacom runs a separate cancellations department, and the process depends on whether your contract has ended. A contract that has run its full term cancels with 30 days’ notice and no cancellation fee. Ending one early is a paid, paperwork-based process with a quote that expires. Fibre has its own line. This page covers all three. Details were read from Vodacom’s cancel contract and premature cancellation pages on 14 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is independent and cannot see your account. For Vodacom’s other lines, see Vodacom contact details.

What you need before contacting

  • Your Vodacom account number and the cellphone number on the contract.
  • A copy of the account holder’s ID.
  • Your contract end date. Contracts run for 24, 36 or 48 months, and the end date decides which process applies.
  • A decision about your number: you can keep it by converting to prepaid instead of cancelling outright.

Step-by-step contact process

If the contract has reached its end date: call the cancellations department on 082 1958. Vodacom charges no cancellation fee, but it needs 30 calendar days’ notice to process the cancellation.

If you want to leave before the end date, Vodacom calls this a premature cancellation:

  1. Request a cancellation quote from Vodacom. It is valid for 14 days.
  2. Review and approve the quote. For SIM-only, device and bundle contracts it can include one month’s subscription, unbilled usage, the outstanding balance and a final invoice.
  3. Pay the quoted amount using your Vodacom account number as the reference, through your banking app (Vodacom is a listed beneficiary at Absa, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank and Capitec), the VodaPay app or a walk-in customer care outlet.
  4. Email earlycancellation@vodacom.co.za with your ID copy, the signed quotation and proof of payment.

Fibre: Vodacom requires 30 days’ notice to cancel a fibre contract. Call 082 1904 and select option 3; the same line can withdraw a cancellation request you have changed your mind about.

Converting to prepaid: contract customers lose any remaining SMS or data bundles on conversion, while Top Up customers keep their airtime and bundles. Vodacom says the contract term should be completed first, and a converted contract number needs a recharge within 24 hours.

Escalation route

Keep the reference number and the email trail from every step. If charges continue after the notice period or a cancellation is not processed, raise it with Vodacom customer care on 082 135 quoting that reference. If Vodacom does not resolve it, consumer complaints about electronic communications providers go to the regulator, ICASA, on 012 568 3000 or consumer@icasa.org.za. Pay a cancellation quote only through the payment channels Vodacom lists above.
