The Capitec loans number is 0860 66 77 89, the line Capitec gives for applying for personal credit or asking about a loan you already have. If the problem is a missed or late repayment, the collections side is a different team: call 0860 66 77 18 or email CentralisedCollections@capitecbank.co.za with your loan account number in the subject line. Every detail below was read on capitecbank.co.za and capitechomeloans.co.za on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Capitec and cannot see a loan application, a balance or a repayment arrangement.

Capitec does not publish operating hours for the two credit lines, a separate email address for new loan applications, or a direct number for its Vehicle Loan. Its contact page gives no address for its credit team; in-person help is at a branch, found with Find a branch on capitecbank.co.za.

Product or service support

The Capitec Personal Loan goes up to R500 000, repaid over 12 to 84 months at a personalised rate that Capitec says starts at 12.50% a year. You can apply online, on the app, on 0860 66 77 89 or at a branch.

The other loans are routed differently. The Access Facility (revolving credit of up to R500 000 over up to 60 months) uses the same 0860 66 77 89 line. The Vehicle Loan is applied for through partner links to WeBuyCars and The Car Place, or by taking a quote or invoice for the car to a branch; if you get an offer, a consultant contacts you to finalise it. Capitec Home Loans are originated by Capitec but assessed and approved by SA Home Loans, which has its own contact details.

Eligibility, account or policy requirements

The Personal Loan carries a once-off initiation fee of R1 207.50 and a monthly service fee of R69, and credit insurance is compulsory on every Personal Loan. Capitec asks for your original ID (you must be 18 or older), your latest salary slip, and a bank statement showing your last three consecutive salary deposits if your salary is not paid into a Capitec account.

Capitec Bank Limited is registration number 1980/003695/06, an authorised financial services provider (FSP 46669) and a registered credit provider (NCRCP13). SA Home Loans, which carries the home loan agreement, is registered separately as NCRCP1735.

A credit insurance claim must be reported within 12 months of the event, and Capitec then allows 3 months to send the supporting documents, such as the employer’s termination letter for retrenchment or medical reports for disability. The cover is underwritten by Capitec Life Limited.

If you are struggling to repay, Capitec lists several options on its credit hub. Your credit account must be at least 4 months old before you can reduce or restructure the instalment. A temporary reduction can run for up to 4 months, manageable arrears can be caught up over 2 to 6 months on top of the normal instalment, and a payment break is available if you have been retrenched, are on unpaid maternity leave or are affected by a protected strike. Capitec notes that a restructure may show on your credit profile.

Escalation route

  1. Call 0860 66 77 89 for a loan query, or use one of the repayment channels above if you are behind.
  2. If that does not resolve it, lodge a complaint through Get in touch on capitecbank.co.za and keep the case number.
  3. Escalate an unresolved complaint to ComplaintManagement@capitecbank.co.za, quoting that case number.
  4. If Capitec’s final answer does not settle it, the National Financial Ombud Scheme handles banking and credit disputes at no cost: 0860 800 900, info@nfosa.co.za.

Capitec’s scam guidance says not to pay upfront for a loan. If a message offers a Capitec loan for a fee, phone 0860 66 77 89 yourself before paying anything.
