Fleet Merchant for Absa Contact Details
Garages, fuel retailers and repair workshops dealing with Absa about card payments should call Absa’s payment acceptance line on 0860 111 222 or email contactmerc@absa.co.za. Fleet card holders and fleet managers use the Absa Fleet Card line, 0861 227 232, or fleetenquiries@absa.co.za. These routes were read on absa.co.za and on Absa’s MyFuel fleet portal on 16 September 2026.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not Absa and cannot see a merchant account, a fleet card transaction or a settlement.

Absa does not publish a unit called “Fleet Merchant” or a separate helpdesk for garages that accept its fleet cards. A merchant’s terminal, settlement or card acceptance problem sits with the payment acceptance team, while a declined or blocked fleet card is a matter for the card holder’s fleet manager and the Fleet Card call centre. Absa’s vehicle and asset finance page says its Fleet Call Centre runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
What this organisation provides
On the merchant side, Absa offers point-of-sale devices and in-house forecourt applications for fuel retailers. Absa says these devices accept garage cards, fleet management cards and Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards, and that merchants selling fuel and oil qualify. Forecourt merchants also get an online fleet reporting tool. Absa describes its Merchant Access Online service as a way to manage merchant activity, and existing merchants can ask for access through an online form on absa.co.za, after which a consultant makes contact.
On the card side, the Absa Fleet Card is issued to businesses to control vehicle spending. Absa lists chip and PIN protection, online-only EMV PIN transactions, real-time authorisations and alerts, blocking of double swipes at tolls, and refuel checks that compare litres with tank capacity and validate odometer readings. Its vehicle finance page says the cards are accepted at about 16 000 fuel and repair merchants and at all toll plazas in South Africa. Card options there include fuel only; fuel and toll; fuel, oil, toll, repairs and maintenance; toll only; and miscellaneous cards not linked to one vehicle.
Fleet managers add drivers, vehicles and e-tags, set limits per driver or vehicle, and block, replace or activate cards on the Absa Fleet Portal. The Absa Garage Card is a different product: a credit card add-on for individuals (0861 462 273, contactcard@absa.co.za) or for businesses linked to a Business or Corporate Card (0861 442 272, purchasecard@absa.co.za).
Address and operating information
Absa’s head office is at Absa Towers West, 15 Troye Street, Johannesburg, Gauteng, 2000. Merchant and fleet card queries go to the phone lines and mailboxes above rather than to head office, although the Fleet Card page also invites you to visit your nearest Absa branch. For a new Fleet Card, Absa says a business must have traded for at least six months, must not be insolvent, under debt counselling or in liquidation, and needs an eligible account such as a Business Cheque Account. Sole proprietors, private companies and closed corporations can apply.
Regional fleet management offices, full maintenance leases and open road tolling administration are covered on our separate Absa fleet page, linked below.
