Corporate Credit Card features
- For travel, entertainment and other business expenses, including hotel, car rental and ad hoc costs while travelling.
- Payment is due 25 days after the billing cycle, giving up to 55 days’ interest-free credit. Cash withdrawals are excluded.
- You can make card-not-present transactions, and non-permanent employees can use the card while travelling.
- Airline, car rental and accommodation spend is combined in one consolidated statement.
- Benefits include Lost Card Protection and insurance cover. The cards are Visa chip-and-PIN, with electronic statements and SMS notifications.
Purchasing and procurement cards
Absa’s purchasing cards are issued to employees who regularly make business purchases, such as business trip expenses, company functions, travel bookings, and stationery or office equipment. The company can set spending limits and controls for each employee, department or division, including merchant category code blocking, cash withdrawal rules and a card hierarchy. Absa says the cards reduce the need for cash advances and cut the paperwork of paying many vendors. Benefits include Lost Card Protection, travel insurance and the Visa Corporate Liability Waiver Programme.
Business Credit Card
The Business Credit Card is available as a Visa or a Mastercard. You can link Garage Cards to it for fuel, oil and other vehicle costs. Each user receives a monthly statement showing their own transactions. The card is meant for everyday business expenses, cash-flow gaps between payments and receivables, and travel costs.
Lost, stolen or compromised corporate cards
If a corporate or purchase card is lost or stolen, call 0800 111 155, or +27 11 501 5050 from abroad, straight away. Both lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For suspected fraud, call the fraud hotline on 0860 557 557. The card administrator can then use the Business and Purchase Cards line on 0861 442 272 to review the card’s limits and controls.
