Auto and General Service Plan Contact Details
The Auto&General Car Service Plan authorisation line is 0861 11 27 03: your repairer must call it to get each service authorised before any work starts. For service plan claims or complaints, Internal Dispute Resolution is on 0860 072 327.
The Car Service Plan is a value-added product from Auto & General Insurance Company Ltd, part of The TIH Group (Telesure), and it covers scheduled manufacturer services such as oil, filters, spark plugs and the cambelt when due. It does not cover breakdowns; those fall under Auto&General’s separate Motor Warranty. For Auto&General’s other numbers, see the main Auto and General contact details page.

How the Auto and General service plan works, step by step
The service plan terms and conditions give the plan its own contact routes, separate from Auto&General’s general number. Before a service begins, the repairer calls 0861 11 27 03 for authorisation. After the service, the invoice is emailed to serviceclaims@tihsa.co.za and Auto&General pays the authorised repairer directly.
- Keep your premiums up to date. A claim is only approved when payments are current.
- Book the service at an authorised repairer and tell them you have an Auto&General service plan. If you are not sure which repairers are authorised, ask Auto&General for a list. You may use a franchised dealer or an Auto&General approved repair centre.
- Before any work starts, the repairer calls 0861 11 27 03 to get the service authorised. Without this, the claim is invalid.
- The repairer emails the invoice to serviceclaims@tihsa.co.za, and Auto&General pays the repairer directly. Keep the invoice for your service record.
No excess is payable for a covered service.
Which vehicles qualify for the service plan
- Private-use passenger vehicles, 4x4s and light commercial vehicles qualify.
- The vehicle must be 30 years old or less, have done under 500,000 km, be registered in South Africa and have an up-to-date service history.
- Taxi, rental, courier and competition use are excluded.
- There is a three-month (90-day) waiting period before the first service can be claimed.
Disputing a declined service plan claim
If a service plan claim is declined or you have a complaint, contact Auto&General’s Internal Dispute Resolution Department on 0860 072 327 or disputeresolution@autogen.co.za. You have 90 days to dispute a claim outcome, and then six months to serve summons.
To report suspected fraud safely and anonymously, use the fraud voicemail on 0861 115 653. For other insurers, browse the insurance and medical aid hub or the insurance directory A to B listings.
