Budget Service Plan contact number and hours
The service plan’s terms and conditions give one line for sales, admin and claims: 0860 105 113. The same number is the one your repairer must call to have a service authorised. Budget’s general customer services line, 0861 60 01 20, is for active policyholders across all Budget products.
Budget’s contact page lists these hours:
- Support: Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17h00; Saturday 08h00 to 13h00; Sunday and public holidays closed.
- Sales: Monday to Thursday 08h00 to 19h00; Friday 08h00 to 18h00; Saturday 08h00 to 13h00; Sunday closed; public holidays 08h00 to 13h00.
What the Budget service plan covers
The plan starts when the manufacturer’s service or maintenance plan expires. It covers specified serviceable parts, such as oil and oil filters, fuel filters and spark plugs, plus all labour, with no excess per service. Only services at approved dealers using manufacturer-approved parts are covered. The plan does not cover maintenance-related repairs.
Who can take the Budget service plan
- There is a three-month waiting period from the date of purchase. A service that falls due in that period is excluded.
- Exotic cars, rebuilt (Code 3) cars and performance-modified cars are excluded.
- Cars used for fare-paying passengers, hire, driving instruction, trade or racing are excluded.
- If you claim with premiums outstanding, there is a 15-day grace period.
- Stopping the debit order cancels the policy immediately.
Budget Insurance is a licensed non-life insurer and financial services provider, FSP 18178.
How to claim a service
- Book the service at an authorised repairer and tell them you have a Budget service plan. If you are not sure which repairers are authorised, ask Budget on 0860 105 113 for a list.
- Before the car goes in, the repairer calls 0860 105 113 to get the service authorised. Without prior authorisation the claim may be invalid.
- After the service, the repairer emails the invoice to serviceclaims@tihsa.co.za, and Budget pays the repairer directly.
- Inspect the car afterwards to check that the service was done as authorised.
