Budget Insurance’s business insurance pages give 0861 088 890 as the number for new and existing business customers’ sales, services and claims. The same number, written 0861 08 88 90, is the Biz Assist line in Budget’s business Assist terms. For a business quote you can also use a “Call me back” button on those pages. These numbers differ from Budget’s main contact page, which lists 0861 60 01 20 for sales and service and 0860 10 42 11 for emergency roadside and home assistance. The business page header number is served by the site and can change from page to page; one business benefits page showed 0861 00 13 53 instead. We lead with 0861 088 890 because it appears in both the page header and the Biz Assist terms.
Budget is a licensed non-life insurer and financial services provider, FSP 18178, at 1 Telesure Lane, Auto & General Park, Riverglen, Dainfern, 2191. Support hours in the site footer are 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays and public holidays. The sales team stays on until 19:00 from Monday to Thursday and 18:00 on Friday, and also works 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays and public holidays.
Product or service support
Budget’s business range covers business vehicle insurance, e-hailing, public liability, hospitality, body corporate, business assets, professional indemnity, directors and officers liability and events liability, with pages for courier and delivery, construction, food, medical practices and broadform liability.
Every business policy includes Biz Assist at no extra cost. It offers Business Concierge, financial advice, a once-off personal credit report for the owner, collections assistance, digital presence services, emergency medical assist, Office Assist for plumbers or electricians at your main premises, Safe Drive and Convenience Drive shuttles, an IT help desk, tender alerts and Road Assist. Budget’s FAQ says operational Biz Assist services run Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and Emergency Medical Assist runs 24/7. The terms list Business Concierge and Office Assist as 24/7 as well.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Points in the Biz Assist terms worth knowing before you call: unless a service states otherwise, use is limited to three incidents per service per policy per year; outside services arranged for you are for your own account; and Road Assist applies only to the Motor Comprehensive, Motor Third Party, Fire and Theft, and Motorcycle sections. After an accident, if you do not call the designated towline, you pay the towing and storage yourself. The terms document is marked 06/2022, so confirm the towline number with Budget when you take out cover.
Budget’s optional Cash Back Bonus on business policies, at extra cost, pays 15% of premiums after the first two claim-free years of uninterrupted cover, 10% after a further two claim-free years, and then 10% for each claim-free year after that.
Escalation route
- Report a business claim on 0861 088 890 and keep the claim number.
- A disagreement about how a claim was decided goes by email to disputeresolution@budgetins.co.za; a service complaint goes to 0860 00 42 94 or policyservices@budgetins.co.za.
- If Budget’s process does not resolve it, the National Financial Ombud Scheme considers insurance complaints from policyholders on 0860 800 900 and at info@nfosa.co.za.
