Services and responsibilities
SAQA oversees the National Qualifications Framework. It registers qualifications, keeps the National Learners’ Records Database (NLRD) used to verify South African qualifications, evaluates foreign qualifications and recognises professional bodies.
SAQA’s stated turnaround is 25 working days for national qualifications and 90 working days for foreign qualifications. Checks with third parties on authenticity or accreditation can push an application past that turnaround.

Walk-in services reopened gradually and now run by booked slot in the morning: Monday to Friday 9:00 to 10:00, 10:00 to 11:00 or 11:00 to 12:00, excluding weekends and public holidays. Book through the walk-in bookings page on the SAQA website.
Applications and escalation
Send your application to the matching mailbox above and allow the published turnaround before you follow up. SAQA does not publish a separate escalation line for delays.
