Absa Stockbrokers and Portfolio Management (Pty) Limited is Absa Group’s JSE-member stockbroking and portfolio management company. The phone line can be used for support and for placing trades. Absa charges an additional fee for trade requests, live share prices or market information requested over the phone. Trades can also be placed online through the trading login at sb.absastockbrokers.co.za, which avoids that additional phone-request fee.
Absa Stockbrokers email addresses
For general Stockbrokers and Portfolio Management queries, use equities@absa.co.za. The same email address is used when moving shares from another broker: complete the transfer form and send a copy to your current broker and to equities@absa.co.za.
If you have already dealt with your Portfolio Relationship Manager or the customer relationship team and are not satisfied with the outcome, Absa asks for feedback and complaints to be sent to spmcomplaints@absa.africa. Online share trading and World Trader
- Online share trading on the JSE, using a trading account funded from your bank account.
- World Trader: an offshore account that can be opened at no additional charge, with access to shares on over 25 exchanges worldwide.
- Managed portfolios: a Portfolio Manager-managed offshore portfolio requires a minimum initial investment of R1 000 000.
The online trading login is sb.absastockbrokers.co.za. Absa also allows trades to be placed by phone on 0860 05 04 03, but an additional fee applies to trade requests, live share prices or market information requested over the phone.
Funding an Absa Stockbrokers trading account
Money transferred during business hours from an Absa Bank account normally reflects in the trading account within 2 hours. Transfers made after 16:00 reflect on the next business day. Transfers from other South African banks can take up to 3 business days.
Under JSE rules, the stockbroker cannot accept physical cash deposits into its bank account. If you are transferring shares from another broker instead of funding the account with money, complete the transfer form and send a copy to both your current broker and equities@absa.co.za.
