Faster Loan Contact Details
There is no South African lender trading under the name Faster Loan. It does not appear on the National Credit Regulator register of credit providers, and no company website exists under that name. If you have been given contact details for a Faster Loan, treat that as a reason to check carefully before sending anything, and use the verification steps below.
Official contact channels
The useful contact here is the regulator, not a lender. Every business that lends money in South Africa must be registered with the National Credit Regulator, and the register is free to search.
- National Credit Regulator call centre: 0860 627 627
- NCR switchboard: 011 554 2700
- Complaints about a credit provider: complaints@ncr.org.za
- The NCR publishes searchable registers of credit providers and debt counsellors on its website, which is where you confirm whether a lender is real
How to check that a lender is registered
- Ask for the lender full registered company name and its NCRCP number. A registered credit provider has one, and is required to display it
- Search that name or number on the NCR register of credit providers. The register currently lists over 10,000 registered credit providers, so a genuine lender will be there
- The register entry shows the registered company name, company registration number, telephone number and physical address. If those do not match what you were told, stop
- If the register returns Not Registered with NCR for the name you were given, the business is not licensed to lend, whatever its website or WhatsApp messages say
Warning signs when a loan is offered quickly
- Being asked to pay a fee before the loan is paid out, whether it is called an admin fee, insurance, a clearance fee or a deposit. A registered lender deducts its charges from the loan, it does not ask you to pay first
- Being asked to send money to a personal bank account, or to a name that differs from the registered company name
- Approval with no affordability assessment. The National Credit Act requires a lender to assess whether you can afford the repayments
- Pressure to decide immediately, or contact only through a mobile number and a messaging app with no registered address
Support and escalation routes
- To report an unregistered lender, or a registered one behaving unlawfully, contact the NCR on 0860 627 627 or complaints@ncr.org.za
- Disputes about an existing credit agreement can go to the National Financial Ombud Scheme on 0860 800 900 once the lender has had a chance to respond
- If you have already lost money to an advance fee, report it to the South African Police Service on 10111, or anonymously to Crime Stop on 08 600 10111, and tell your bank immediately
