The FNB credit card contact number is 087 575 1111, the FNB Credit Card division’s line for Classic and Gold card enquiries, and the FNB credit card email address is fnbcard@fnb.co.za. To report fraud, call the FNB Credit Card or Fraud Division on 087 575 9444 (+27 11 352 5910 from abroad), 24 hours. FNB credit card call centre hours
FNB publishes two sets of hours for its credit card line. The Credit Card Contact Us page gives 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, for each department. FNB’s main “Talk to us” directory lists 087 575 1111 and 087 736 4800 with hours of 08:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays, and Secure Chat in the FNB App from 07:00 to 19:00 on weekdays. Calling between 08:00 and 17:00 on a weekday is covered by both. The fraud and lost card lines in the “Talk to us” directory are open 24 hours. From outside South Africa, FNB says to dial +27 11 371 3711 first and enter the 087 number when prompted.
FNB credit card fraud line and lost cards
FNB’s credit card guide gives three options if your card is lost, stolen or used fraudulently: phone the FNB Credit Card or Fraud Division on 087 575 9444 or +27 11 352 5910; cancel or block the card instantly in the FNB Banking App, where you can also order a new card; or contact Visa Global Customer Assistance Service for an emergency cash payout or medical assistance abroad. The same guide lists 0800 110 132 as the lost and stolen card number, while FNB’s “Talk to us” directory lists 087 575 9406 for lost and stolen cards, 24 hours; if one does not connect, use the other or the app. You can also phone the number on the back of your card.
FNB credit card collections
If you cannot make a credit card payment, FNB asks you to keep its Collections team informed: call 087 736 7846 or 087 736 7847 to discuss the delay and make a repayment arrangement. FNB’s contact pages do not publish a separate email address for collections, so start by phone. FNB warns that if an account is handed over for further collection, the credit facility cannot be reopened, you must apply for a new card once the debt is settled, and you are liable for legal, collection and tracing fees.
FNB credit card insurance
If you hold a Top-up Debt Protection policy on your FNB credit card, which covers death, permanent disability, temporary disability and retrenchment or unemployment, FNB says you may qualify to claim against it; call FNB Life on 087 736 7775 to check. For travel cover linked to your card, contact the Global Travel Insurance Help Desk on 0861 490 100 to activate the benefit before you travel, and let FNB know your travel plans by phoning the number on the back of your card so it can monitor transactions.
Paying your FNB credit card
FNB’s guide lists these repayment methods: a debit order for the monthly minimum payment, a direct deposit into your credit card at any FNB branch, or an electronic transfer to your credit card through FNB Online Banking or Cellphone Banking. FNB does not publish a separate set of credit card banking details on these pages; to pay from another bank, use the account details on your FNB credit card statement or ask the credit card line on 087 575 1111. To avoid interest on purchases, pay your full closing balance by the due date each month, which gives you up to 55 days interest-free.
