Standard Bank publishes no separate loans telephone number. Personal lending is handled on the general personal banking line, and the calculators on the site do most of the work a call would.

Product or service support
The personal loan calculator accepts amounts between R500 and R300,000. The bank distinguishes three loan types on its own calculators: a term loan, a revolving loan where the limit changes, and a revolving loan where it does not. The distinction matters because a revolving facility can be drawn again as it is repaid, while a term loan cannot.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Credit insurance is not optional on a personal loan. The site notes that its repayment estimate excludes mandatory insurance, and it offers the Debt Protection Plan at three levels, described as Comprehensive under plan D, Select under plan E and Basic under plan F. Budget for that premium on top of the quoted repayment, because the headline figure from the calculator does not include it.
Escalation route
Every application is subject to an affordability assessment under the National Credit Act, so a loan cannot be approved over the telephone on account conduct alone. If you already hold a loan, the amortisation calculator shows how additional payments, missed payments and revolving draws change the balance and the end date. An unresolved complaint goes to the complaint resolution centre on 0860 101 101, then to the National Financial Ombud on 0860 800 900, with the National Credit Regulator on 0860 627 627 for the credit agreement or a reckless lending claim.
