What this regulator handles
The NLC regulates the National Lottery and administers the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, which channels lottery proceeds to good causes. The nldtf@ address is the route for grant funding enquiries, and it is the commonest reason organisations contact the NLC.
The Commission also handles complaints about the conduct of the lottery, licensing and compliance. Game rules, draw results and ticket queries sit with the operator.

Complaints and escalation process
Raise a ticket, prize or retailer matter with the operator first, keeping the ticket itself – a lottery claim rests on the physical or digital ticket, and without it there is generally no claim.
Lottery scams are among the most common frauds in South Africa. You cannot win a lottery you did not enter, and no legitimate lottery asks a winner to pay a fee, tax or courier charge to release a prize. Never send money or an OTP to claim a lottery win, and do not share banking details in response to a win notification.
Unresolved conduct complaints go to the NLC. Beyond it, the Commission falls under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, and maladministration by a public entity can be taken to the Public Protector.
