Randburg Coin is a numismatic and bullion dealer in Randburg, trading since 1980 and later absorbing Bickels Coins, which had been going since 1964. The most important thing to know before you set out: goods are not kept on the premises, and viewing is by appointment only.
Official contact channels

The dealer also publishes a fax number alongside these lines. It is clearly marked as a fax on their own page, and it will not connect as a voice call, so do not dial it expecting to speak to anyone.
What this organisation provides
- Gold and silver Krugerrands, in both proof and bullion form
- South African coin series including Natura, Protea, Big Five, Heritage and Culture
- South African coins catalogued from 1874 to date and banknotes from 1921 to date
- Collector accessories: albums, holders, magnifiers, scales and Fisch testers, slabbed coin containers and reference catalogues
- World banknotes and a diamond desk with its own mailbox
The banknote catalogue is organised by the signature on the note, running from the pre-Reserve Bank issues through WH Clegg, JJ Postmus, MH de Kock, G Rissik, TW de Jongh, GPC de Kock, CL Stals, TT Mboweni and Gill Marcus. If you are trying to identify what you hold, the governor signature is usually the quickest way to place it.
Address and operating information
- Physical address: Unit 10 Netwater Place, 252 Oak Avenue, Randburg
- Postal address: P.O. Box 2434, Randburg, 2125
- Trading hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00
- Closed on weekends and public holidays
- Viewing strictly by appointment, because stock is held off site
Two caveats the dealer publishes itself are worth repeating. Items shown as in stock remain subject to availability and to price confirmation, which matters when metal prices move during a day. And because nothing is held at the address, arriving without an appointment achieves nothing.
Support and escalation routes
- Orders and stock queries: [email protected]; general matters: [email protected]
- The dealer states it cannot receive or make cash payments for gold, platinum or silver Krugerrands; settlement is by bank transfer
- Dealers in high-value goods are accountable institutions under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, which is the background to cash restrictions and identity checks
- Retail disputes over goods or service go to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272
- Krugerrands are minted by the South African Mint and refined by Rand Refinery; authenticity and grading questions ultimately trace back to them
Expect to be asked for identification on a bullion purchase, and do not read it as an obstruction. A dealer that skips those checks, or offers to settle a Krugerrand deal in cash, is the one to be wary of.
