VodaSure is Vodacom’s insurance range, and it does not run on one number. Device insurance uses a different line from the rest of the range, which is the single most useful thing to know before you dial. The contact details below were read from vodacom.co.za on 2 September 2026.

Official contact channels

These are Vodacom short codes rather than ten-digit numbers, and Vodacom writes the servicing line inconsistently across its own pages – as “082 178 00” on the funeral cover page and “082 17800” on the legal assist page. They are the same number, dialled 08217800.

082 135 is Vodacom’s general customer care for phones, airtime and contracts. It is not an insurance desk and cannot handle a claim.

What this organisation provides

VodaSure spans five separate covers: device insurance, funeral cover, life cover, legal assist and health insurance. Each has its own product page on vodacom.co.za, and they are separate policies with separate terms – holding one does not give you any of the others.

Vodacom states that Legal Assist places no limit on the number or length of advice calls, but that the service runs in business hours only – so it is a telephone advice benefit rather than an emergency line.

Address and operating information

VodaSure publishes no separate street address – it is a Vodacom product range, sold online, by phone and through Vodacom Shops. Device insurance is the one cover you can also activate and claim on in store.

The advice line and the query line keep different hours on the same number. Weekend callers can reach the desk but not the legal advice itself.

Support and escalation routes

Raise a claim or policy dispute on the number for that specific cover, quoting the policy number and dates, and keep the reference. If a claim is declined, ask for the decision in writing with the policy clause relied on – without it there is nothing to take further.

Which ombud you use depends on which VodaSure product it is. Funeral and life cover are long-term insurance and device insurance is short-term, but both now fall to the National Financial Ombud Scheme, which took over the previous long-term and short-term insurance ombud offices and handles all of them free of charge. Conduct by the insurer or the way a policy was sold goes to the Financial Sector Conduct Authority.

Because these policies are sold alongside a mobile contract, a common complaint is cover added without clear consent – that is an FSCA matter. A billing dispute on the Vodacom account itself can go to ICASA, and a personal information complaint to the Information Regulator.
