ER24 describes three emergency contact centres, available 24 hours a day, handling about 50,000 emergency calls a month, with over 270 staff who take calls, assess how serious a situation is and dispatch resources, including air ambulances. Helicopter and fixed-wing emergencies are also activated through 084 124; the 010 205 3588 aeromedical number is for quoting and booking aeromedical services and ground ambulance assistance, not for dispatching an emergency. Deaf, hearing-impaired and speech-impaired people can reach the Emergency Contact Centre through the ER24 and Vodacom 112 Emergency Services App.

For billing or claims queries, ER24’s Billing and Claims page asks you to complete its online form, and it notes that ER24 manages some aspects, such as emergency response or member validation, for certain medical aid schemes; the page links to a list so you can check whether ER24 manages an aspect of your scheme. For a patient report form (PRF), the patient or an authorised representative can email documents@er24.co.za.
