Marara Pharmacy is a South African pharmacy group operating from two licensed branches in Centurion, Gauteng, with prescription upload and delivery services alongside the counter. The contact details below were read from the Marara Pharmacy contact page on 31 August 2026.
Official contact channels
- Reception: 012 883 5000
- Customer care: 086 062 7272
- WhatsApp: 010 101 3563 – send the word Hi to start
- General email: care@mararapharm.co.za
- Bonitas members: bonitas@mararapharm.co.za
- Fax: 086 501 1991
Note the email domain: the website is mararapharmacy.co.za but the mailboxes are on the shorter mararapharm.co.za. A reply from that domain is genuine rather than a spoof.
The separate Bonitas mailbox is worth using if you are a Bonitas medical scheme member – it routes scheme-specific queries to the team that handles them rather than through general care.
Facility services
Marara Pharmacy publishes the following customer routes on its website: uploading a prescription, registering as a customer, paying an account, and a providers section. It also maintains published delivery, return and refund policies.
The prescription upload route is the practical one for repeat and chronic medicine – it lets the pharmacy prepare or dispatch an order without a counter visit. Before contacting the pharmacy, have your prescription, your identity number, and your medical scheme membership number and dependant code if the medicine is being claimed from a scheme.
For anything clinical – whether a medicine is suitable, an interaction, a dosage question, or a reaction you are experiencing – speak to the pharmacist directly rather than relying on any written source, including this page. A pharmacist needs your full medicine list to answer safely.
Address and operating information
Marara publishes two branches, each with its own National Department of Health licence:
- Marara Pharmacy – 14 Esdoring Nook, Highveld Techno Park, Centurion, 0169. Practice number Y60490, NDOH licence GP03984C.
- Marara Pharmacy West – 272A West Avenue, Die Hoewes, Centurion, 0157. Practice number Y61619, NDOH licence GP03985C.
Each branch also publishes the name of its Responsible Pharmacist, as a licensed pharmacy is required to do. Those names are displayed on the pharmacy own site and at the premises; they are not reproduced here, since the licence and practice numbers above are what you actually need to verify the pharmacy.
Those licence numbers are the useful detail. A legitimate South African pharmacy is licensed by the National Department of Health and must operate under a named Responsible Pharmacist. If you are buying medicine online from any pharmacy, check that both are published before you pay – their absence is the clearest signal that a site is not a licensed pharmacy.
Marara does not publish trading hours on its contact page. Confirm on 012 883 5000 before travelling, particularly on a Saturday or a public holiday.
Appointments and support
Raise a service problem with the branch first, then customer care on 086 062 7272 or care@mararapharm.co.za, keeping the reference. For a dispensing concern, keep the medicine, the packaging and the label – they carry the batch details a pharmacy needs to investigate.
If the pharmacy does not resolve it, the escalation routes are:
- Pharmacy conduct, dispensing or the Responsible Pharmacist: the South African Pharmacy Council, which registers pharmacies and pharmacists
- A medical scheme refusing to pay for medicine: Council for Medical Schemes, 0861 123 267, complaints@medicalschemes.co.za
- Service, delivery or refunds as a consumer: the National Consumer Commission, under the Consumer Protection Act
Quote the branch practice number when escalating, since the two branches are separately licensed.
