Bonitas Contact Details
The Bonitas contact number for general queries is 0860 002 108 for members on most plans, and 0861 239 333 for members on BonCap and BonCore. Both groups can WhatsApp Bonitas on 076 172 3151. To request an ambulance, call 0860 555 505. Hospital authorisations for every plan go to 0860 002 108 or hospital@bonitas.co.za. Check which plan you are on before you call, because BonCap and BonCore members have a different general queries number and mailbox. If you are not sure, WhatsApp 076 172 3151, which Bonitas lists for both groups.
Bonitas ambulance number
To request an ambulance, call 0860 555 505. Bonitas asks you to give your name, telephone number and medical aid number when you call, so keep your membership card or number where you can find it quickly. The same number applies on every Bonitas plan. In a life-threatening emergency, you can also call 112 from a cellphone.
Hospital authorisations
For planned hospital admissions, call 0860 002 108 or email hospital@bonitas.co.za to get authorisation before you are admitted. Have your membership number, the name of the doctor and hospital, the admission date and the procedure details ready.
Healthcare provider queries
Doctors, hospitals and other providers use the Provider Contact Centre on 0860 002 108 and the Provider Zone at bonitas.co.za/providerzone, rather than the member lines.
BonCap and BonCore walk-in centres
Bonitas lists walk-in centres for BonCap and BonCore members on its Support page. Bonitas does not list phone numbers for individual centres, so call 0861 239 333 before visiting.

Report fraud, waste and abuse
Bonitas uses the independent Whistle Blowers ethics hotline for fraud, waste, abuse and error. Reports can be made anonymously or in confidence:

Online and app
Bonitas has a Member Zone, Broker Zone and Provider Zone on bonitas.co.za, and a Bonitas app. Bonitas notes that where its brochures or website differ from the Scheme Rules, the Scheme Rules prevail, and that the rules are available on request. Its dispute resolution process is published under Legal on bonitas.co.za.
