Shatterprufe is a South African vehicle glass brand, supplying windscreens and replacement automotive glass through a network of fitment centres. Its aftermarket replacement glass business publishes a call centre number and a head office number, and the fitment centres themselves do not publish their own.
Official contact channels
- Call centre: 0860 10 10 11
- Head office telephone: 011 723 3000
- Address: corner Mount Joy and George Allen Roads, Willbart Extension 2, Edenvale
- Fitment centre locator on the website, listing centres by province
The call centre is the number to use. The fitment centre locator will tell you which centres exist near you, listing them by province and by town, but the individual centre pages carry only the name of the branch and no telephone number or address of their own. That is a deliberate design: bookings run through the central number rather than through the branch.
Be aware that parts of the site are a trade portal rather than a public one. The contact form, the customer service section and the feedback form all return a message saying you do not have the appropriate permissions unless you sign in with an account, which most consumers will not have. The two numbers above are published openly and do not require an account.
What this organisation provides
The brand supplies windscreens, side and rear glass for passenger and commercial vehicles, fitted through its approved centres. Its Gauteng network alone covers Carletonville, Edenvale, Boksburg, Fourways, Heidelberg, Alberton, Johannesburg City, Krugersdorp, Lenasia, Alexandra, Menlyn, Midrand, Sandton, Silver Lakes, Centurion, Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Allens Nek and Wonderboom, with similar lists for the other eight provinces.
Address and operating information
The head office and aftermarket replacement glass operation sits in Edenvale, near the eastern edge of Johannesburg. Trading hours are not published centrally and will differ from centre to centre, so confirm on the call centre number before travelling to a branch, particularly on a Saturday.
Support and escalation routes
Check who is paying before you book. Windscreen replacement is very often an insurance claim rather than a cash purchase, and most motor policies carry a separate windscreen excess and sometimes a nominated supplier. Phoning your insurer first can change both which centre you go to and what you pay, and going ahead without doing so can leave you out of pocket on a claim that would otherwise have been covered.
A windscreen is a roadworthiness item, so a chip or crack in the driver line of sight is not only a cost question. If a fitment goes wrong, the work is a motor industry service, which puts it with the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa on 0861 164 672 once the supplier has had a chance to resolve it. Keep the invoice and the job card, and note that a repair carries its own warranty on the workmanship separate from any warranty on the glass itself.
