Is there a Vuma WhatsApp number?
No WhatsApp number appears on vumatel.co.za: the contact page, website footer and Code of Conduct list the phone number 010 746 8862 and email addresses only. That includes complaints, which Vuma’s Complaints Procedure says must be sent to complaints@vumatel.co.za. If you find a “Vuma WhatsApp number” elsewhere, it may belong to an internet service provider selling Vuma fibre rather than to Vuma itself, so check it against your ISP’s own website before sharing account or banking details. For help with your account, speed or billing, Vuma asks you to contact your ISP first.
Vuma helpline and landline number
010 746 8862 is printed on every page of Vuma’s Code of Conduct and on its contact page, where Vuma describes it as its Customer Care Support team for technical assistance and reporting an outage in your area. In its Code of Conduct, Vuma commits to answering calls to its call centre within three minutes on average over twelve months, monitoring its network 24 hours a day, and clearing 90% of reported faults within three business days, with the rest within six business days.
Vuma complaints procedure
- Email your complaint to complaints@vumatel.co.za with your full particulars and contact details, your relationship with Vuma and any reference numbers, the reasons for the complaint, and any supporting evidence.
- Vuma acknowledges the complaint within 3 business days and gives you a reference number.
- Vuma decides on the complaint and tells you the outcome in writing within 14 business days.
- If you are unhappy with the outcome, you can escalate it to ICASA on 012 568 3000 or consumer@icasa.org.za, which may refer it to its Complaints and Compliance Committee. You must give Vuma the chance to resolve it first.
Billing disputes follow a separate process: send a Billing Dispute Notice to complaints@vumatel.co.za within 30 calendar days of the invoice date, with the invoice details, the disputed amount and your reasons. Vuma acknowledges it within 3 business days and responds within 14 business days. Ordinary billing questions that are not disputes go to accounts@vumatel.co.za.
Vuma and Vodacom
Vuma is owned by MAZIV, which was formed by Community Investment Ventures Holdings as the parent company of Vuma and Dark Fibre Africa. Vuma’s news page describes the completed merger between MAZIV and Vodacom as one of the most significant transactions in South African ICT history. Vuma’s network is open access, so Vodacom is one of many internet service providers selling packages on it. If your fibre account is with Vodacom, call Vodacom on 082 1904, the number Vuma lists for it; if your account is with another provider, such as Afrihost, Axxess or Webafrica, contact that provider instead.
Vuma Fibre Reach prepaid recharges
Vuma Fibre Reach is Vuma’s prepaid, month-to-month uncapped fibre, available in areas such as Mitchells Plain, Vosloorus and Soweto. Vuma’s recharge guide says to check who your ISP is on your bill, your payment SMS reminder, or the QR code on the fibre device (ONT) in your home. You can recharge with the EasyPay app or website using your EasyPay number as the reference, at participating stores, or from the Capitec banking app.
