Vuma Reach Contact Details
The Vuma Reach contact number is 010 746 8862, Vuma customer care, for a technical fault or to report an outage in your area. Anything about your account, package, bill or speed goes to your internet service provider instead, because Vuma builds the fibre and the ISP sells the service on it.
Vuma Reach contact details at a glance
| Who to contact | For |
|---|---|
| Vuma customer care: 010 746 8862 | A technical fault, or to report an outage in your area |
| Your internet service provider | Your account, your package, your bill or your speed |
| The Vuma self-service app | Both Core and Reach customers |
| Network status page on vumatel.co.za | Known outages, before you phone anyone |
Vumatel says this itself on its contact page, in as many words: please contact your internet service provider with any issues you are experiencing. Vuma builds and runs the fibre; it does not sell you the internet service. Check the network status page first, because a known area outage is already being worked on and a call adds nothing.
Vuma Reach packages and pricing
Vuma does not sell packages and does not set prices, so there is no Vuma Reach price list to send you. The fibre in your street and the box on your wall belong to Vuma, but your contract, your monthly price and your data package belong to an internet service provider that buys capacity on the network. Two neighbours on identical Vuma Reach lines can pay different amounts to different companies. For Vuma Reach packages, prices, a package upgrade, a cancellation or a debit order query, contact your ISP; a billing dispute is an ISP matter and Vuma has no visibility of it.
The dividing line is roughly this: if the fault would be there no matter which ISP you used, it is a Vuma matter. If it would disappear by switching ISP, it is not.
The Reach ONT
Reach installations use a Wi-Fi enabled ONT, the box that terminates the fibre in your home and also serves as the router. That is a difference worth knowing, because on many other fibre products the ONT and the router are two separate devices and only the ONT belongs to the network operator. Resetting a Wi-Fi enabled ONT clears your Wi-Fi settings along with everything else, so do not reset it as a first troubleshooting step unless somebody who knows your setup has told you to.
Before you report a Vuma Reach fault
- Check the network status page for a known outage in your area
- Note which lights are on, off or flashing on the ONT, because that is the first thing you will be asked
- Confirm whether the problem affects every device or only one, which separates a line fault from a Wi-Fi problem
- Have your address and your ISP account number ready
If the status page shows no outage and the checks above point to the line rather than your own equipment, call Vuma customer care on 010 746 8862.
Moving house on Vuma Reach
Vuma keeps a specific answer for this in the Reach knowledge base, and it is worth reading before you move rather than after. Coverage is not universal, so check the new address on the Vuma coverage checker first, and give your ISP notice in line with your contract. A line left active at an address you have vacated keeps billing.
A note on vumareach.co.za
The domain vumareach.co.za does not serve a readable page, sitting behind a bot-verification screen. Start from vumatel.co.za instead, which is where the Reach product pages, the FAQs, the coverage checker and the network status page actually live.
