The Vumatel contact number is 010 746 8862, the Vuma Customer Care Support team for technical assistance and reporting an outage in your area. For anything to do with your internet service itself, Vumatel asks you to contact your internet service provider (ISP) first, because that is the fastest way to get help. Vumatel or your ISP: who to call
Vuma builds and runs the fibre network, while your internet package, billing and account are with your internet service provider. Vumatel’s FAQ says that for support queries you should contact your ISP first, as this is the fastest way to get assistance. Call Vumatel’s Customer Care Support team on 010 746 8862 for technical assistance or to report an outage in your area. Before calling, check the Network Status page on vumatel.co.za to see whether a known outage is already being worked on.

Vumatel WhatsApp number and after-hours support
Vumatel’s contact page lists only the phone number 010 746 8862 for its Customer Care Support team. It does not publish a WhatsApp number or state separate after-hours support hours. For help outside office hours, check your ISP’s own website for its support channels. Be cautious of WhatsApp numbers claiming to be Vumatel that do not appear on vumatel.co.za.
Vumatel head office
Vumatel’s contact page does not list a head office phone number or street address for customers. For network faults and outages, use 010 746 8862. Vumatel’s website also links to its Code of Conduct, Complaints procedure, PAIA and POPI manual and Privacy Policy in the footer, which set out how to raise formal complaints and information requests.
Vuma products and getting fibre
Vumatel’s website separates its products into Vuma Fibre Core and Vuma Fibre Reach, which it describes as affordable and reliable prepaid internet, and it also offers fibre to the business and cameras. To find out whether fibre is available at your home, enter your address in the coverage checker on vumatel.co.za. Vumatel’s knowledge base answers common questions such as what “Open Access” means, the difference between a CPE and an ONT, the difference between trenched and open aerial networks, and whether you can get Vuma Fibre for a business. Vumatel also lists network pages for Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
Before you call about a fibre fault
- Check the Network Status page for a known outage in your area.
- Restart your router and check that the lights on the fibre box (ONT) are on.
- Contact your ISP with your account number and physical address; they can see your service and log a fault if needed.
