Old Mutual Pension Fund Contact Details
Old Mutual administers pension and provident funds on behalf of employers rather than running one fund of its own, so what you can be told depends on which fund you belong to and on whether you are a member, the employer or an adviser.

Product or service support
The call centre runs Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, so a fund query cannot be raised by telephone over a weekend. The WhatsApp channel uses the same number and is self-service rather than an agent chat: save the number, send Hi, and follow the menu.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Old Mutual runs three separate self-service routes and they are not interchangeable: one for members, one for intermediaries and employers, and the Old Mutual App or secure site for individual customers. Through the app or secure site you can make withdrawals, submit claims, download tax certificates, update your personal details and beneficiaries, and manage payments. Because your fund rules are set by the employer fund rather than by Old Mutual, questions about eligibility, contribution rates or what happens when you leave are often answered faster by your employer or the fund administrator than by the call centre.
Escalation route
Old Mutual publishes a separate unclaimed benefits route for money left behind in a fund by former members, which is a common reason for contact years after leaving a job. A complaint that Old Mutual does not resolve goes to the Pension Funds Adjudicator, which is the correct body for retirement fund disputes rather than an insurance or banking ombud. Note also that the toll free number 0800 222 117 published on the Old Mutual contact page is Tip-offs Anonymous, an independently operated fraud reporting line, not a fund enquiry number.
